OK I went against my better judgement, I rented and watched this movie. I have to say, I went into it thinking it was going to be terrible....I was right. For one Ray Stevens is a terrible Punisher. He had no depth to his character at all, he doesn't sound like Frank. He acts like a quite uncharismatic bore. The Jigsaw is like what the hell!? He is a whiney little welp, and the actor delivered a terrible preformance. I can't tell whether it was the direction or him. Most of the acting was terrible in general. Anouther annoyance, Looney Bin Jim. All i have to say is WTF!!? Completly over acted, and over blown. He puts the final nail in the coffin about making the villians nothing but shallow comedic relief. Howard Saint was a much better villian. I would also like to address the hard core scenes of violence people were talking about. What is wrong with you? Hardcore! Go watch Hostil 1 & 2, because they have more intersting kills than this POS!! The only really cool kill was the Urban Freestyle people, and how Jigsaw got his face. Other than that, the director did nothing but beef up alot of basic and unnecessary gore to try and make the film look even more explicit! On a Comic accuracy note, I love how some say this follows the comics more! Yeah except for the fact that Punisher kills a woman in the movie. One of Franks very few rules is no Women or Children. And as far as killing the FBI agent on "accident"? I'm sorry but last I checked, Frank goes in knowing who he is going to kill. He is supposd to be Marvels answer to Batman. More extream and alot more resourceful! I don't see Frank F*cking up that bad! I would also like to address the mass amount of gangs that were recruited at the end....WTF?? Yeah a bunch of gangs are really going to follow a disfigured fuck up, that has no real pull. And they are going to follow him into battle with a man who has proved, supposedly, that he could withstand an army of thugs and kill them all!!!!!
I however will add that I loved the use of Psychosocial by Slipknot. So for that and a few choice scenes that made me giggle I give it 2.5/10.
