The only thing i can say is when Bflick has an opinion she posts it. She did say it was her opinion, as you stated your about her. I don't think I would go as far to say there hole movie choice system is heywire. But I Know how she feels. I hate the Dawn of the Dead remake, and said similar things when it came out. And don't even get me started on the Day Remake!!! Anyways all in, Reanimater remake will suck because they will replace Dr. West. If they replace Combs (which they most likely will) the only saving grace will be the 3D, which couldnt save even 10 minutes of NOTLD3D. I just feel like she is attacking me for my opinion, and thats just not right. You can say whatever you want about ANY movie, but dont attack someone for liking something that you dont. I'm just saying.

Oh, yea! Bickering on a message board! Can I join in too?
Let's see!
A remake of Re-Animator, or Nightmare or Hellraiser for that matter, is pointless (generally) if it doesn't have the same main actor. The reason for this is because that in these movies what made them endearing is the performance by the "star" in the lead role. They are what made these characters icons.
A remake of Friday or Halloween doesn't have to worry about this as much because it is just some idiot in a mask. As the sequels to the originals proved, you can stick just about any nobody in a mask and it really doesn't make all that much difference.
Now, while I did like the remake of My Bloody Valentine, to me it seems like adding something like 3-D just seems like a gimmick to distract from the fact that your story and/or acting sucks.
I personally think that it did seem like an attack, but I am new here and don't know you people, so what do I know and who really gives a fuck what I think? I think that you are both retarded. Now, before you start feeling special and/or singled out, don't......I think everyone is retarded.
And PS.......the remake of the new Friday did suck major ass!

I agree with you on the unmasked, actually have lines to speak slashers that they should not be replaced, that it never really works regardless of the story they try to put behind it. It didnt work for Wishmaster (althought nothing worked for the sequels on that), it didnt work with Stepfather 3 (again, lost cause), hell, it didnt even work for Star Trek when they replaced Savik. I would also agree with you up to a point on the masked ones. You ask me my favorite Myers, I couldnt tell you. Best Leatherface? Again, couldnt tell you. My Bloody V? Didnt notice a difference between the old and new miner. and on and on and on. HOWEVER, I do think, for me at least, that Kane Hodder did someting with his Jason that made it my favorite, made him stand out from the rest, If you tok every Jason actor in full gear and lined em up, Kanes Jason is the one that would make me freak the most and run away. I cant realy explain it, it not because of the personality of the guy behind the mask, he just brought something out with the body language that sets him apart in my mind, more menace, more .....I dont know... As far as being retarded....yeth thir, I thirtanly am! ;D

I agree with Kane. I have to say as far as making a Michael Myers Scary, not that I was, Tyler Mane did a good job.

I dont see what any of them have done better or worse than the other. Body built may factor into it, but as far a creating a menacing presence through body language, I dont see what any of the masked guys have brought out with it that would seperate them from the rest.

Its more personal taste for me. If you wanted physical aspect, there are some of the people behind the mask that are so scrawny i don't think the weekest victim would actually be affraid. I don't go for the whole how he presents himself. If he dosen't look like he can actually take me in real life, I don't view them as a threat, and it does ruin it for me. Like i said it is more or less personal preferance.

I really loved Reanimator and I can't imagine any remake inspiring me in a like way. A film is both itself and all the experiences that you've had watching it. Reanimator has a lot of fun crud built up on it in my mind, crud composed of multiple viewings, midnight showings, and the memory of a dear friend of mine standing up in the theater and yelling out "Nail her while she's warm!"
To say that remakes are entirely without merit is, perhaps, unjust. Though I do not generally care for them myself, they do often serve to introduce a younger audience to worthy material. The best of that audience will likely seek out the original material -- maybe all the way back to the original text. (For in one sense, as Reanimator is based on a literary source, it is already a "remake" of another's artistic vision.)
The first filmic vampire I ever saw was not Nosferatu. The journey of a thousand miles starts with a single step, or so the cliche goes.
I would personally prefer simply a big budget re-release of the Reanimator we all know and love, but that's not going to happen.
And before you decide a need a new a$$hole over some opinion I've shared here, think first: Do you really want me to have two a$$holes? Then I'll have twice as many opinions! Besides, why pay any attention to me, after all...
...Who's going to believe a talking head?
