Was a very good movie. If anyone did not like it, I could see why. Although I have to say that the story was great, visual effects were top notch, and the action was well paced. All and all I give it an 8.5. I didn't have Seras with me though so it could have jaded my opinion just a bit. Well worth it though.

Having never read the comics, I had no idea what to expect from this. I must say I was pleasantly surprised. I would liken it to the "anti-superhero" superhero movie, not unlike Hancock (which I also enjoyed). The fact that it was set in 1985 (albeit an "alternate" 1985, where Nixon is still President) seemed odd to me, but yet it seemed to work. The entire movie had a Steampunk feel to it, very similar to The League of Extrordinary Gentlemen. It seemed as if it carried a very 1940's vibe to me. I agree that it is very understandable that some will not enjoy this, especially if they are expecting a classic superhero movie. The only thing I didn't care for was that it was fairly predicable who would end up being the main villain.

Yeah i have to say that I was putting together pretty fast too though. But then again when you are a seasoned movie vetran there aren't many that can throw me off the scent. Far from Saw.
I see where you would get the League Feel. There was a feww characters I would have liked to know more about, but by the end of the movie I saw how they weren't really relevant. I like it better as days pass.
