They have posted an update...........
OCTOBER 9-11, 2009 ORLANDO, FL
We're back, and larger than ever, as we head into our 7th year with the most spectacular show to date. Spooky Empire's Ultimate Horror Weekend is fast becoming one of the most popular horror events in U.S. with fans coming from all over the country to attend.
Last years show was monstrous, with the most fans we've had so far, reaching record breaking numbers. But you haven't seen anything yet, wait until you get a look at what we have in store for 2009.
This years location is once again at The Wyndham Resort in Orlando, FL., which has now become our home away from home.
The place is sure to be filled with some of the most well known names in horror, as well as some amazing horror writers and artists! There will be unique seminars, live music throughout the weekend, some of the best tattoo artists in the U.S., Independent Filmmakers and their films, a larger Dealer Room than ever before, Special FX Artists, Creepy Costume Contest, pool parties, classic movies, and many other surprises to be announced. We're also bringing back a gaming room with over 30 flat screen televisions and game consoles. Once again to kick off the weekend, we will open the convention with our 3rd Annual Spooky Empire Zombie Walk, which will have it's own surprises.
The doors will open Friday night, the 9th at 5pm. Saturday morning, the 10th, doors will open at 11am. The con will run all through the night until Sunday morning when doors open again at 11am. The schedule of events is to be announced at a later date.!
The Wyndham will have special room rates for us. $99.00/night when you mention Screamfest. Rooms are limited, so make your reservations early!
For those of you that want to start the weekend out early, there is a pre-party Thursday night at the Gatorville Tiki Bar.
The Wyndham will have special room rates for us. $99.00/night when you mention the code word Spooky Empire or Screamfest. Rooms are limited, so make your reservations early! Last year we sold out months before the show.
You don't want to miss the event of the year, see you at the party!!
This event is for all ages!!
Please excuse any interruptions you may have, we are in the middle of building a brand new website for 2009, we will keep you posted on the launch for the new site.

I saw the same thing and there is one "point" that I wish that they would focus more on.....HORROR WRITERS.
I wish that would could get some bigger named writers. Ok, so they lost Clive Barker last year and Stephen King might be a pipe-dream, but there are other names out there.

Maybe some horror movie writers like Todd Farmer or the one who did Wrong Turn II (not a great movie, but the guy seemed to know and like his horror)

I went to check and see if they let me on the old board yet and it wasn't there. Anyone know something I don't?

Just wondering: If the "new"message board starts up, and everyone rejoins that one, what happens to this?
