I heard that the Sci-Fi Channel was considering re-making It into a (new) mini-series.
I loved the book, the movie was mediocre but all the elements are there for a scary-as-fuck full length rated R picture. This I would like to see. I didn't think that the original movie made-for-tv thingy did it justice. I read the book when I was 15 and it gave me the creeps more so than anything else I have ever read - blame it on age?
What do you guys think?

Ya know what? I think I agree with you, dont get me wrong, i like the It movie and pennywise creeps everyone out, But I was very young when I started reading IT and I belive I only got like half way through it, It think the book has sooo much more graphic detail and such, But I dont think Sci-fi should be givin the right to re-making it, I have seen them slaughter some things . on a side note sci fi is changing there name to SyFy. I know dumb ight appearntly the dont want to be thought of as just a science fiction network??

"SyFi" is just silly. Bleh.
As to IT: The first King novel that I did not read. I started it at the beginning of one lost summer. Lost the book, lost the summer, and lost Stephen King as well. Sigh. Part of me loves Stephen King and part of me thinks "Ass." That remake of The Shining he supported because he didn't like Kubrick's (one of the greatest horror movies EVER, IMNERHO) sort of made think somewhat less of him artistically.

I wasn't aware there was one besides the Kubrick version. That is the one with Jack Nicholson in it, right?

Yes, Kubrick stars Nicholson. There was a made for TV one that King pushed. Apparently, he felt the other failed to capture the novel as he saw it. Perhaps, I mean, he is the author. However, it is one of his better novels and the Kubrick film is a masterpiece of cold terror. The TV version, in a word, sux.

Wow, I didn't know he didn't approve of Kubrick's version. It was brilliant. He is such a movie whore. I love him anyway. That remake blew...I mean, WTF - Rebecca De Mornay? And that kid with the giant teeth?
